Day 1: Arrival in Oslo

Arrival to Gardemoen in Oslo. To get to the city center you can take a taxi directly to your hotel, or board the Airport Express Train to the city center. There are many public transportation options as well.

Day 2: Scenic Railway journey to Trondheim

Enjoy your early breakfast in Oslo before you head to Oslo Central Station to board the Dovrebane train. On your way along the Dovre Mountain you will pass historical villages and the mountain area known for the home of the musk ox. There are many top-rated attractions in Trondheim and here are some that we recommend; Nidaros Cathedral was built by King Olav Kyrre in the years 1066-1093. Wander through the harbor area to get a feel of how this city became a critical marketplace from the Viking ages right up through today. Stroll down to the Market Square and experience the city’s main street named Munkegata and the medieval Archbishop’s Palace. The Trondheim Science Museum is a popular attraction for locals and great for younger children with many hands-on experiments and displays.

Day 3: Cruise journey to Bergen

After your breakfast at your hotel in Trondheim, you will head to the harbour to board the Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage. after departure you will pass the islands Munkholmen and Hitra before you head towards Kristiansund and Molde, Roses. The steep, gray and high peaks of Romsdal Alps gleams in the background of your journey. Explore the fascinating landscape, such as the picturesque Nordfjord under the famous Jostedalen glacier. Enjoy the mighty Sognefjord before you arrive in the afternoon the day after in Bergen, the city between the seven mountains.

Day 5: Day at leisure in Bergen

The day is yours to enjoy some leisure time in Bergen. Here are a few choices that we recommend:
Fløibanen Funicular Railway is a short trip that starts from the city center, and takes you up Mount Fløyen, approximately 320 metres above sea level. Wonderful view over the city !
Bryggen is the harbor area of Bergen where the very first buildings were constructed. It is one of Norway’s main attractions and is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The magnificent architecture of these wooden buildings is carefully preserved and hosts a variety of restaurants, shops, offices, artists’ studios, craft workshops, and the Bryggen Museum. The Fish Market in the heart of Bergen is a must see and one of Norway‘s most frequented outdoors markets.
For your evening in Bergen there is a large variety of delicious international restaurants, small cafés, bars and nightclubs to choose from.

Day 6: Norway in a nutshell ® - Part 1

You will board the Bergenbanen train early in the morning to Voss. Bus will wait after you in Voss for your journey to the viking village Gudvangen in Aurland.
One of the highlights of the journey waits after you in Gudvangen, the fjordcruise to the UNESCO World Heritage Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in Europe. The boat will sail you to the lovely village in Aurland, Flåm.
In 1960 most of the people in Flåm were farmers, nowadays most of the inhabitants work in the tourism industry or on the railway.

Day 7: Norway in a Nutshell ® - Part 2

The train will stop at the mountain railway station of Myrdal. Here you will switch to the Bergensbanen journey to Oslo. Many people say the railway between Oslo and Bergen is one of the most beautiful railway journey in the world, and this side journey with Flåm railway is the most stunning section. This Journey will literally and figuratively leave you breathless !
