Day 1: Welcome to Norway

Arrive at Bergen airport, pick-up your rental car and begin your drive to Bergen for your first overnight stay. Bergen is known the world over as the gateway to the fjords of Norway. The city is surrounded by one of the world’s most spectacular tourist attractions, the Norwegian Fjords, which have been designated on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Day 2: Magnificent Fjords and The world´s best Train Journey

After your overnight stay in Bergen, your drive will continue to Voss, the outdoor capital of Norway.
Voss is located between the famous fjords of Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord. Voss is well known for the wide range of outdoor activities on offer, including horseback riding, rafting and hiking. In the second longest fjord Sognefjord you will find the beautiful town of Flåm, with its spectacular natural surroundings. When driving from Voss to Flåm don’t miss out the beautiful Tvinderfossen waterfall. If time allows, the 20 kilometer Flåm railway, Flamsbana is a highly recommended excursion. This railway takes you on a journey through the impressively steep mountains, breath-taking waterfalls and passes many viewpoints of the surrounding mountains and fjords. In 2014, Lonely Planet named this journey “The World‘s Best Train Journey.“
We highly recommend a visit to Undredal village between Flåm and Gudvangen. The village is famous for its small stave church built in 1147 and white and brown goat cheese. Undredal is a friendly village with an active and vibrant local culture. Conclude your day by driving through Aurlandsfjorden located in the southern part of Sognefjorden. This is a journey through the heart of the fjords and is surrounded with mountain peaks, deep fjords and contrasting scenery. Enjoy a short break with a stop in the friendly villages of Aurland and Lærdal.
Aurland is situated on the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord both of which are listed as UNESCO’s World Heritage sites. If you wish to go hiking, lace up your boots and hike to the breath-taking viewpoint from Stegastein, situated 6 kilometers from the center of Aurland and 650 meters above sea level. Drive in the afternoon to Sogndal area for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Sogndal - Ålesund

Enjoy breakfast in the Sogndal vicinity and begin your journey to Fjærland, Fjærland is a small village where Sognefjord meets Jostedalsbreen Glacier. In Fjærland there are many activities that you can participate in, for an example Glacier hike or kayaking. After your stop in Fjærland you will continue to Ålesund. Ålesund is known for fishing and furniture production. This nice and warm village is located at the peak of the fjords in Sunnmmøre. We recommend you to visit The Art Nouveau Centre, experience and wander around the lovely harbour and take a walk up the 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla for stunning view of the city, visit the Aquarium or just relax in this calm and friendly village.

Day 4: The Waterfalls, Seven Sisters and Geiranger

On your way from Ålesund to Geiranger you will pass the spectacular area with Seven Sisters and the UNESCO World Heritage area of the mountain farm Herdalssetra. We recommend to taste the famous local milk cheese and caramels, and meet and greet the goats, cows and sheep. If you wish to taste the famous strawberries from Valldal, then make a stop there by one of the strawberry farmers.

Day 5: Brikdals Glacier

After enjoying everything the beautiful Geirangerfjord has to offer, it's time to head to Førde. On your way we recommend a stop at Brikdalsglacier a Glacier which is an arm of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier close to Olden. You can either walk up to the glacier roots or go on a Trollcar up to the Glacier. Continue your drive to Førde where you will spend the night. Førde is a small town in the center in a dramatic landscape.

Day 6: Bergen

Highlights
You start your day on board heading to Bergen. In the afternoon you will arrive in Bergen, return your vehicle and enjoy the afternoon and evening in this lovely city.

This is the final day of your journey through the magnificent fjords of Norway. For transportation to Bergen Flesland Airport you can take taxi directly from your hotel, or take the airbus shuttle from many departing points in Bergen.
